About this policy
Smriti Shah Learning Academy is operated by Shikshaa Gurru Edtech. This policy covers smritishah.com, learn.smritishah.com and the related academy apps, course, appointment, order and support services.
Information we collect
Account and contact information: your name, registered email, phone number and profile information supplied during sign-in or admission.
Learning information: enrolments, access dates, uploaded answers, evaluations, marks, feedback, progress and mentorship bookings.
Payments and orders: fee arrangements, payment references, payment status, billing details and recipient/shipping details for books.
Communications: support requests, complaints, enquiries and class-chat messages.
Technical information
We process sign-in and session data, registered-device identifiers and public keys, device/platform and app information, notification tokens, and security and administrative audit records. Protected-video access records support viewing limits and misuse prevention.
The Android app registers one device per student using a hardware-backed device key, and receives notification tokens.
Hardware-backed protection depends on device support; device security indicators may also be recorded. We do not receive your Google password.
How we use information
We use information to verify accounts, provide learning services, evaluate work, manage classes and appointments, reconcile payments, deliver books, provide support and prevent misuse. Video watermarks may display your name and registered contact details.
WhatsApp authentication codes verify your number. Requesting a code is not consent to promotional messages. Service messages may include booking, payment and delivery updates.
Visibility of learning information
Authorised academy staff, mentors and evaluators access information needed for their responsibilities. Class-chat names and messages are visible to participants. Released answers selected as Good Copies, together with the student name, marks and accompanying feedback, can be viewed by students with active access to the same course. Course achievement and rank displays may show student names and results. Contact support if you have a concern about featured work.
Service providers
Depending on the feature used, our integrations include Netlify for hosting and database services; Cloudflare R2 for file storage; Google for sign-in, Calendar, Meet, Gmail, Sheets, Firebase notifications and Gemini-assisted responses; Meta/WhatsApp for messaging and verification; Razorpay for payments; TPStreams and VdoCipher for protected video; Zoom for applicable classes; and Ekart, Delhivery or India Post for delivery.
Providers receive information needed for their service, such as attendee details for meeting invitations, a phone number for verification, or recipient details for delivery. Avoid putting passwords, OTPs or financial credentials into an automated assistant. These providers may process information outside India under their service arrangements. Their own privacy policies also apply to their services. We may disclose information where required by law or necessary to protect legal rights.
Cookies and storage
We use cookies and browser/app storage for sign-in, account functions and preferences. Disabling necessary storage may prevent access. Embedded services and externally loaded resources may process technical information under their own policies.
Retention and security
When an account-deletion request is accepted, account access ends. We aim to remove eligible personal data from active systems within seven days. Legally required financial records and records subject to a specific legal obligation or hold are restricted to that purpose and retained for the applicable period; we explain any exception when handling your request. We do not keep a separate two-year identity archive for piracy tracing. Restricted recovery backups follow the provider’s retention schedule; some are retained by deployment count rather than a fixed number of days. We reapply deletion requests before restoring access or communications from a backup. See our Data Deletion Instructions.
We use authenticated access and role-based permissions. No service can guarantee absolute security. Keep your account secure and report suspected misuse promptly.
Privacy requests
Email shikshaagurruedtech@gmail.com from your registered email to request access, correction or deletion, describing the account and request. We may ask for proportionate information to verify ownership; never send your password or OTP. Deletion may involve proportionate ownership verification and specific lawful retention exceptions. An active course alone is not a reason to refuse account deletion. When available in your app, use Account → Delete account; you can also request deletion by email. We confirm completion after eligible cleanup is finished.
We handle privacy requests within the timeframes required by applicable law. If identity verification or further information is needed, we will contact you using the details you provide.
Younger learners and updates
Course enrolment is restricted to people aged 18 or older. Contact us if you believe an under-18 person has supplied personal information. This eligibility rule does not mean every website visitor has undergone age verification.
Updates will be published here with a revised effective date. Where appropriate, material changes will also be communicated through our services.
